YouTube by Lazyworm gets updated to version 2.4, gets Live Tile

Lazyworm has written to let us know that their free YouTube client has been updated to version 2.4.

The software, simply called "YouTube” now offers  Live tile push notifications for up to 3 subscriptions, and now also features a Volume slider on video playback player.

An important feature for those who do not want their Music and Video hub cluttered by random YouTube videos is the option to not sync video history with Music and Video hub, which may save embarrassment for some when demoing their phone to friends.

The company is also hard at work on Version 3 of their app, intended to work best with Mango .

I agree this looks really bad. I am going to design a new blog for Windows Phone guys and when it’s ready I will et you guys know so hopefully you come visit there and leave comments there as well.

I am working on it for a while and I wanted to have a nice design something like metro style on WP7.

I will visiting here for sure all the time but this is 2011 (almost 2012) and this design belong to early 90s. Please do something about this!

anyway, the app is fine. I love it. I just wish more of these youtube app makers would take a look at the HTC youtube app for design inspirations.

At the end of the day the app has to look nice and work fine. It needs to be snappy like the HTC app too. I think lazytube has a great app actually, it just needs some design changes to fit the metro mentra which is keep it clean and simple. The screen is loaded with stuff which is IMO taking away from the metro experience.

If they can “hide” those functionalities or give you the OPTION to have them there, that makes it an amazing app. I for example never rate a youtube video as good or bad so I don’t see why I should see that next to every video…also one of the main things for me is “search”.

I think on the homescreen of every youtube app, there should be a search field and categories…like the HTC app, thats awesome. Any other design is a fail for mainstream. Although I appreciate that lazytube has the option to rearrange the screens. I just would have wished for a cleaner design and categories beyond the search field.

take a look at the HTC app in terms of design..minimalistic, zune colors…just awesome. I’m sure the devs can do it, they are pretty talented. Also lazytube needs to have “download” a video option. This is the thing that is a must and what everyone wants, otherwise supertube takes the cake even though their design is even uglier and the “category” homescreen is simply useless because you have to swype to a different page to see the result.
