Signature Theatre Announces Casting for The Hollow, The Boy Detective Fails
Signature Theatre has announced casting for its American Musical Voices Project: Next Generation World Premiere Repertory Series , scheduled to run August 23 - October 16.As previously announced , the series will include productions of The Hollow , with music and lyrics by Matt Conner and a book by Hunter Foster, based on Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow , to be directed by Eric Shaeffer; and The Boy Detective Fails , with music and lyrics by Adam Gwon, and a book by Joe Meno, based on his novel of the same name, which focuses on a man attempting to solve the shocking death of his sister when they were children, to be directed by Joe Calarco.
The company for The Hollow will star Sam Ludwig as Ichabod Crane and Whitney Bashor as Katrina, while The Boy Detective Fails will star Stephen Gregory Smith in the title role and Anika Larsen as Penny.
The repertory cast to appear in both musicals includes Evan Casey, Sherri Edelen, James Gardiner, Tracy Lynn Olivera, Margo Seibert, Thomas Adrian Simpson, Russell Sunday, and Harry A. Winter.
The creative team for the productions will include choreographer Karma Camp, scenic designer Derek McLane, lighting designer Chris Lee, costume designer Kathleen Geldard, and sound designer Matt Rowe.

“The Hollow” is an adaptation of Washington Irving's creepy classic “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” and “The Boy Detective Fails,” based on a novel by Joe Meno, follows a man examining the circumstances of his sister's death.
