HOLDEN, Maine — Fields Pond Audubon Center will present “From Camera to Print — Secrets of the Pros Photography Workshop” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the center in Holden.

Learn what it takes to go from photo to art with professional photographer Andy Anderson who will share techniques common to most photo processing software and also some “secret” tricks of the trade. A basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Elements recommended but not required. Bring a few photos on a card and lunch.

Kennel’s calendar to benefit food bank

BANGOR, Maine — Green Acres Kennel’s first calendar will showcase a recent photo and art contest. The calendar’s cost is $16, and profits will be donated to the Eastern Area Agency on Aging Furry Friends Food Bank. Pre-order by Aug. 10 to list one chosen entry — pet’s birthday, a memorial day, etc. Additional listings are $2 each.
