Fire officials: Illegal fireworks sparked blaze

San Bernardino National Forest spokesman John Miller says the fire was reported at about 10:30 a.m. Friday at Arrowhead Lake Road and State Highway 173 southeast of Hesperia. It was contained just after 5 p.m.

Miller says more than 100 firefighters, aided by two air tankers, three helicopters and one air attack plane, battled the flames.

Miller says firefighters hiked down the steep slope to determine that illegal fireworks started the fire.

So far there have been no arrests.
