Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam better known as Akon was born on April 16, 1973 and is a world known songwriter and singer. The singer split his time between the United States and Sengeal until high school and permanently settled in New Jersey soon after. In early interviews, the singer claimed his real name was Aliaune Damala Akon Thiam and that he was a Muslim that never drank or smoked.
Akon allegedly spent three years in jail after which he realized his musical talent. Akon's track 'I Wanna Love You' spoke to the ladies all over the world featured rapper Snoop Dogg, the track also has a more explicit version. The song was nominated for a Grammy in 2008.
