IS NANDO’S the only place other than training and massage parlours where footballers go? That’s all those egotists talk about on social networking site Twitter.
Unless, of course, you’re Joey Barton. Then you slag off the club and get fired!
Barton’s unceremonious exit from St James Park is more likely to hurt the Toon Army than his pockets.
The midfielder was key to success on Tyneside, and Mike Ashley’s decision to let him go for nothing could come back and bite him on the proverbials.
It must also be a new low for mankind; Ashley is losing a popularity contest with bad-boy Barton!
Barton’s lifestlye has been transformed since a move to the North East and his love of the club and its fans is evident by his ramblings on Twitter.
Speaking out against the club only sped his departure with Ashley refusing to offer him a new deal.

Despite press mutterings, I can’t see the former Manchester City star making his way to the red side of town, nor the likes of Arsenal.
Barton should be looking at Everton or Aston Villa where he can star, instead of becoming a bit-part player.
His class is undoubted. The way Barton approaches football is a joy but don’t get on his bad side or, just like the irritating and smug Piers Morgan, you could end up in one of his unpublishable tweets.
